Mickey and Friends Shorts

Has everyone seen these Mickey Mouse and friends shorts? I think Mickey Mouse - Croissant de Triomphe is my favorite one. You can watch all the shorts from the Mickey Video app free on the iPad.

I really love the illustration style this set of shorts.

HeyHey Colors for the iPad

We love this coloring app by street artist Bue the Warrior. I really like the way it looks – the contrast between the distressed wooden backgrounds and the clean vector icons. And my son just loves to color page after page. You can find out more about HeyHey Colors here.

iPad Apps

There are tons of cool apps for kids for the iPad, but these are some of our favorites right now:

Plic, Ploc, Wiz - I love the simple illustrations and the colors in this app. There are different ways to play with the shapes. You can fit the shapes into the outlines or you can just have complete freedom and build whatever you want. Our 3 year old loves it. You can try it for free and then pay for additional illustrations.

Montessorium Intro to Letters - I think the best part of this app is that it allows you to trace the letters, which is perfect for 2 and 3 year olds. It also tells you the sounds the letters make and even allows you to record your voice saying them. Montessorium also has Intro to Math, and the newly released Alpha Writer. These are all fun, educational, and nicely designed!
